Well this Friday the 13th wasn't as wild as the last but it did have some crazy aspects! We were getting a lot of notifications from the school district since they will be having a meeting Tuesday to determine what school will look like in January. That prompted the schools to send us notices of what each school will look come January. And then the looming declaration form that is due November 30th that we have to choose what option we want. Still have way more questions than answers and it isn't easy since we don't work from home. I am still working from home two days a week so Matt can be on campus two days a weeks but those arrangements may not be there come January so it has been frustrating.
Additionally, the cases in our county and even more so around the country continue to climb at an alarming pace. We had made reservations to go out of state for a week but the state issued guidance on Friday that advised residents to not travel out of state. Given that we are both working in the office some, we can't come back and self isolate without causing other issues. Although we would be by ourselves and would be following strict safety guidelines, we didn't feel it would be appropriate for us to go out of state so we pulled the plug on that trip Saturday morning. We then tried to find something else that was in state and after a bit of a scramble we were able to find something else. More to come on that after we return!
Today is my birthday and it has been interesting to look back at all that has happened in the last year. Forty was a wild ride and has been a strong reminder to me what is really important and what to be thankful for. Looking forward, 41 will still hold a lot of uncertainty but keeping focused on the positive will help get through that uncertainty.
