Today is a day we knew would come but it doesn't make it any easier. We had more than 13 wonderful year of his love for which we will be forever thankful. I was not a dog person but he forever changed me and showed me the love a dog can bring. Thank you Rufus!
We had another yard visitor today and I was able to take a photo. There were a squirrel that came to enjoy some of the acorns from the oak trees in our yard.
Today we took the kids on adventure. We drove out by a local lake and then headed for the hills. It was a few miles on a bumpy paved road and then a few on bumpy dirt roads, and 14 creek crossings. Then we made it to the trail head and could start the hike! We decided to eat a bit before we started that part of our adventure.
We made our way through the fairly short but at times very steep (yes, at the end we had to basically rock climb using a rope to climb down). But we made it to a nice little pool of water!
The kids borrowed floats from others who were hanging out there as well.
And they got to see a salamander hanging out!
Matt took a jump into the water!
Olivier enjoyed going down the "slide". You climb up the rope and swing over to the moss/algae area on the left and slide down.
