Olivier's something big - A Big Smile!

Olivier got his braces off today!  Wa hoo!  One happy kid! 

A little bit of rain!

Yesterday we got a little bit of rain (just over half an inch) which is fairly rare for us to get this late into the season.  It was nice because the clouds were so beautiful, the sun peeked out, and the hills still have bit of green left.  This cow wasn't so keen on me taking a photo though!

Otherwise, it was a fairly quiet week.  This week will be the last week of school volleyball, and Olivier will have something to share too!  But more to come on that in a couple of day!  :-)

Busy and fun week!

This week I was traveling a bit for work and squeezed in a minor league baseball game on Thursday night.  It was a beautiful evening in Sacramento; yes, it is hard to believe such a thing exists!  

On Saturday afternoon I took this photo of one our dalhia bulbs was blooming.  It is a reminder of joy in these frustrating times.  

On Easter Sunday we headed out to enjoy some time out and about.  We went to Monterey to visit the aquarium and play tourist!  I think Mason and Olivier have officially outgrown the penguin peek!  

We checked out the wave area which was surprisingly empty and I got this fun video of Olivier!

And as Olivier was feeling the glass during anther wave I got this photo that made it look like he was doing some kind of magic!

Olivier and Anna enjoyed touching the rays in the touch tanks!

We then went and walked Cannery Row and checked out a lot of the shops and just enjoyed being out and about.  Oddly we saw at least two of these Jelly Belly benches.  

And they had some kind of pirate activity and Olivier thought it was funny.  Oddly enough when we were walking around there was someone who went past us dressed fully like a pirate and was still in character.  Made us all laugh.  

After exploring for a bit we went back to the aquarium and checked out the gift shop.  They had a really cool shirt but it was more than we would pay for a shirt.  The message behind it was posted and it is worth sharing.  

Love easy days like this where we can unplug, unwind, and be together!  

Take me to the ball game!

Today we went to the college baseball game.  The weather was great, warm but not melting, a slight breeze but not windy, and plenty of sun!  The game was being broadcast so they had extra cameras.  Matt was keeping an eye on the camera near us and at one point noticed the were likely taping us.  And sure enough, he watched the recording of the game and there we are!  

Luna was pouting!

On Wednesday night I got this funny photo of Luna.  She really likes this pillow and it isn't a surprise to see her sitting on it, but this time instead of being able to see us, she was pouting and would not look at us.  I guess she is too good for us now?!?

Mason has three home games for volleyball this week.  Mason continues to be very consistent with his jump serve.  

And his setting is helping his team immensely!  

I will say it is a lot harder to get a photo of a great set, hit or block because they happen so quickly and you don't know when they will!  

They have been struggling with the long rally and getting the point before the hit the wall.  Although this wasn't a super long rally, it was a bit longer and it was nice to see they got the point!

Anna continues to work hard at the barn on Saturday mornings!  This week I got some photos and love seeing her enjoy what she loves!  

Hands off!

Today we all went to the Hands Off protest at our local courthouse.  We wanted to make sure that we are voicing our concerns with the current status of our country.  I was a bit surprised that I still had the signs Anna and I used for the protest back in January 2017 and very disappointed that we were needing to use them again.  

We were joined by a dear friend!  

There were so many signs that I liked!  This was just one of them!  

And I got this photo with the Canada flag from another protester behind me.  

Although it isn't something any of us want to do, we need to be loud and not settle!

Yellow Belt!

Tonight Olivier was awarded a yellow belt at jiu jitsu!  He has been working really hard and started attending an adult fundamentals class to work with adults as well as going to the regular class on Saturdays.  His instructor has noticed his hard word and growth.  Way to go Olivier!  Very proud of you and the hard work you are putting in!
