Anna Sylvie Arnold arrived on January 29, 2008 at 3:22 a.m. She weighted 7 pounds, 15.8 ounces and was 20 inches long. It was love at first sight!
Anna loves her Daddy. He kept her company as she stayed under the warmer.

Anna Sylive Has Arrived!
Anna Sylvie Arnold arrived on January 29, 2008 at 3:22 a.m. She weighted 7 pounds, 15.8 ounces and was 20 inches long. It was love at first sight!
Anna loves her Daddy. He kept her company as she stayed under the warmer.

The birth!
At about two-forty five Monday morning (1/28/08) I was awaken by a strange sensation and jumped (well, not literally!) out of bed and raced to the bathroom. My water had broken, yeah! After letting Matt know I called the doctors office and checked in with them. The contractions started shortly there after and I was wide awake. We were told that if we didn't feel the baby move that we should head to the hospital around five, otherwise we could wait until six thirty.
I tried to rest but was so excited! I took a shower and got a few things done around the house and around four thirty, Matt got up and took a shower also. We left the house for the hospital around five fifteen.
Once we got to the hospital they checked to confirm my water had broken and then started the process of officially checking us in. Shortly after seven Matt called our parents to let them know that we were at the hospital but we still had a long way to go. Our doctor stopped by, excited that our little one decided to start the process on her own.
At ten they checked how far along we were and to see if they needed to help the process along. We were discouraged to find out that I was only one to two centimeters dilated. At that point an IV was started and they started a drug to help induce labor. Around one thirty in the afternoon I decided that I really needed the room emptied because labor was really starting to get strong.
Shortly after three in the afternoon I asked for something to help relax me. They checked me and I was about four centimeters dilated. Not nearly as far as I would have liked but it was out of my control now! The medication really helped me get through the next hour or so of labor and relieved a lot of back pain that I was having. Only lasted for about an hour though...
Around five thirty I decided to ask for the epidural, knowing that it could be a while before I could get it and that I still had a lot of labor left to go. To our surprise the anesthesiologist arrived just a few minutes later and was able to start the epidural. We were still only about four centimeters dilated.
Now that I was much more comfortable we tried to get some rest. We had a few visitors and rested for the next six hours.
At eleven thirty p.m. the nurse came in and said they were fairly sure the baby had moved down and it was time to push. After checking they had me lay on my side for a while to try and adjust the angle she was positioned.
Tuesday morning arrived (1/29/08) and it was time to start pushing. The nurse and Matt (an amazing coach!) helped me through all the pushes and the nausea. I had no idea that I could get so sick while trying to push. Thankfully Matt was there for me and helped keep me from loosing control and stay focused on our baby girl!
The doctor arrived right around three a.m. and after one push with out him, we pushed once with him coaching us. I was in shock when they said the next push we would be having our baby girl. On the next push I kept going and sure enough, our little girl made her grand appearance!
They put her on my chest and it was amazing to see her looking at us! Such an amazing process!
They wrapped her up in warm blankets and let Daddy (aka Matt) hold her as they cleaned me up. Once they were done cleaning me up I got to hold our little girl, Anna Sylvie Arnold. Daddy called the grandparents and told them they better get to the hospital soon. Boy were they surprised when they arrived at the hospital a short time later and she had arrived!
Now we are a family of three!

Nursery
This wall has a bulletin board with photos of us as kids and our parents and siblings. The middle section will be for when "Beta" meets all the family!
This is the rocking chair that we bought just after we got married (six years ago on Saturday!) with a beautiful blanket made by Grandma Linda. Yellow ducks! Too cute! There is also the cradle that Tania's grandparents gave her when she was little.
The crib! We have the letters to her name that will go above the crib but you have to wait until she arrives to see that!

Utrasound
We found out today we are having a girl! We are ecstatic that she looks health and we are still on track for a January 24, 2008 due date.Keeping her name a secret until the big day!
