Saturday Showdown!

Today Olivier competed at the Saturday showdown at his jiu jitsu studio and he did really well, with two wins!

District Band Concert!

Tonight was the district band concert for all the kids in our city.  Although we think of our selves as a small city, events like this show just how many kids there are!  There was a 6th, 7th, 8th and two high school bands.  

Olivier and Anna are in different bands that the high school has.  Here is Olivier's group:

They always finish this concert with a group playing of "Let's Go Band!"

MVP for Mason!

Today the school had their spring sports awards event.  The volleyball group had a nice little event and each player got a certificate and the coaches talked about each player.  If the player had a certain GPA or higher they got a special seal on their certificate.  It was great to hear the coaches talk about each player and Mason's coach included in his comments how little Mason talks!  Ha ha!  Not a surprise!  Then they had one plaque for the JV team, and the coach noted that is should come as no surprise, it went to Mason!  He got JV MVP!  Way to go Mason! 

Santa Barbara!

Anna wrapped up her AP testing this week and then had a busy day yesterday.  She and Olivier went to Santa Barbara with the band to participate in a String and Wind Festival.  Both of the groups they participate in did really well and got superior rankings!  They are both a bit worn out today as they get ready for the final stretch of the school year!  

Where did this heat come from???

This week we have been busy with the normal stuff but the end of this week we got hit with a very sudden heat wave, yucko!  Yesterday and today we have had highs in the 90's, and on Monday - Wednesday we were in the low 70's.  We want that back!  

Anna had two AP tests this week and we cheered on the varsity boys volleyball team (unfortunately they lost).  Hard to believe there is less than a month before the end of the school year!  

Prom!

Tonight Anna is attending prom with a group of friends!  It is hard to believe her junior year is coming to an end!  Anna and her friend Lupe got ready here and then headed to the school to take the bus to the event.

Last Freshman Year Game

Today Mason played his last high school game of his freshman year.  He played really well and had a lot of growth as he had to help a lot of new players get more familiar with the game.  It has been a hard process but a good one also!
