Last day of school!

Today we celebrated the last day of school!  We went downtown (thankfully before things got too crazy for open house) and went and tried out axe throwing!  Yup, you read that right!  Here are some photos of each of us.  I did take some "live" photos but they don't work on the blog.

We then walked through downtown for a bit and got some tasty candy!  Then we went to dinner.  I made them take a photo by the door.  Anna and Olivier are standing on the door mat so they have a slight advantage over Mason.  Crazy to see how they have grown!

Water polo! And now rain!

Last Saturday, Olivier had another water polo tournament!  They won the first game 14-4!  And they won the second game 13-5!  It may sound like they were big wins but they were much more challenging games than the last tournament.  And that is a wrap on the season!  He has had a lot of fun and learned a lot about himself and the sport of water polo!

As a treat we give Taz the peanut butter jar after it is empty and he enjoys licking the last tiny bits left behind.  He then becomes very protective of the jar!   We think he is sad his tongue isn't longer to get all the way to the bottom!
This is the last week of school and the kids are counting down!  Only two more days left!  And it is ending with some unusual weather.  It isn't unheard of to have a cool June with fog but we have had lots of cool weather, and last night and today there was rain, and last night we got a bit of lightening and thunder!  Wild!  The kids were thankful that it wasn't their big years in school because that usually involves trips to the pool or somewhere you want it to be warm, and is sure isn't this year!  But Anna is happy that it won't be crazy hot when she has to play with the band for the high school commencement on Friday!

Lots going on but quieter than other weekends

Not much to report from the past week.  It has been a busy one but in a good way, not the overwhelming way.  Still cool weather (high 60's) and we are thankful for that.  The kids are excited because there are only eight days of school left.  And then onto different adventures!

Water polo!

Today Olivier had his first water polo tournament and it went really well!  They played two games.  During the first game the score was 7-1 after the first quarter, 13-3 at the half (Olivier got an assist!), 17-4 after the third quarter (Olivier scored a goal!!) and it finished 19-7.  He played a lot of the game and really enjoyed it!

The second game was right after lunch.  The score was 8-0 after the first quarter, 10-0 at the half, 15-0 after the third quarter, and it finished 18-0.  I got a couple good photos of Olivier during the game with this one at the start of the second quarter.
And this one is of him getting ready to pass.
It was a great day!  And he is ready for a very good nights sleep tonight!

Braces!

The boys have reached that age, braces time!  Olivier is in traditional braces and Mason got lucky and not only did I not take his photo today but he has invisalign and will be done in roughly 18 months.  Roughly 26 month to go for Olivier!

Concert day!

Today was the concert for the schools in the city, from the 6th graders in elementary school, to the high school.  The middle school played two songs.  See if they sound familiar!

And the symphonic band Anna is a part of played one song.  I missed the first part of it but see if this might sound familiar (it is a few snippets from one artist).

Yup, we got rain in May!

The last few weeks we have been keeping up with busy schedules and squeezing in the fun stuff as much as possible!  And just so we have it on the record, we did get some measurable rain the first week in May, so weird but after this winter, it seems weird when it isn't raining!

Olivier started water polo practice at the beginning of the month, Anna has gotten some good rides in (despite the rain!), and Mason is enjoying the skills program for volleyball.  It makes for interesting planning but it is all getting done!

At the end of April we all went to the Open House at the Junior High and Anna was surprised but happy that one of her 7th grade teachers recognized her!  Nice surprise!

This weekend Anna braided the forelock of the horse she rides and as silly as this made Silly look, it made her look way less silly since her hair wasn't going in every direction.
Saturday afternoon we used some gift certificates and enjoyed an afternoon/evening together!  We started by doing an escape room!  And we are pleased to announce we escaped with just over 15 minutes to spare!  Puzzle wizards!  And then we headed to dinner and enjoyed the very warm weather!  We walked around downtown after, and just enjoyed the time together.
Back to the busy schedule this week but first, enjoying a nice and simple Mother's Day!
