Concert day!

Today was the concert for the schools in the city, from the 6th graders in elementary school, to the high school.  The middle school played two songs.  See if they sound familiar!

And the symphonic band Anna is a part of played one song.  I missed the first part of it but see if this might sound familiar (it is a few snippets from one artist).

Yup, we got rain in May!

The last few weeks we have been keeping up with busy schedules and squeezing in the fun stuff as much as possible!  And just so we have it on the record, we did get some measurable rain the first week in May, so weird but after this winter, it seems weird when it isn't raining!

Olivier started water polo practice at the beginning of the month, Anna has gotten some good rides in (despite the rain!), and Mason is enjoying the skills program for volleyball.  It makes for interesting planning but it is all getting done!

At the end of April we all went to the Open House at the Junior High and Anna was surprised but happy that one of her 7th grade teachers recognized her!  Nice surprise!

This weekend Anna braided the forelock of the horse she rides and as silly as this made Silly look, it made her look way less silly since her hair wasn't going in every direction.
Saturday afternoon we used some gift certificates and enjoyed an afternoon/evening together!  We started by doing an escape room!  And we are pleased to announce we escaped with just over 15 minutes to spare!  Puzzle wizards!  And then we headed to dinner and enjoyed the very warm weather!  We walked around downtown after, and just enjoyed the time together.
Back to the busy schedule this week but first, enjoying a nice and simple Mother's Day!

Busy normal week

This week we have been doing our normal stuff and got a bit of a warm up on Friday and Saturday.  Nothing crazy but a surprise after so many days on the cool side.  Could do without all the wind blowing around all the pollen but working around that.

Friday night on my walk I was loving all the colors of the hills, the clouds and the sky.  Super spoiled!

This week we will be going to the middle school open house and all the normal stuff.  Busy but good!

Goats!

This week the kids had a fairly normal schedule...well at least the boys did.  Anna had late days on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday since the 11th graders had standardized testing in the morning.

Matt had a busy end to the week and weekend because I was traveling for work and did a short side trip to see my brother and his family.  Oddly the time I was with them I didn't take any photos of people, just the goats that were in the creek area near their house and helping with weed control.
This week we are looking forward to a somewhat normal week too!  We could get use to this!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!  No photos from this morning but the kids enjoyed hunting for eggs, and found all 102!  And then one showed its age and cracked and we are down to 101 for next year!  In the afternoon we went back out to the local lake because it is still spilling over and the kids and I wanted to see.  It was beautiful with the green hills, blue sky and warm air.  Here is the spill way.

And on the other side of the road.
We talked about how it looked like it would be a fun water slide on the side where the lake is spilling over but it gets a lot more intense on the other side of the road!

It was a nice Easter!

Fun week!

This week, on Tuesday, Mason has his last regular season volleyball game and they finished undefeated!  They then played in a tournament and played really well and finished in third.  It was exciting to see him grow in skill and want to play more!

On Friday the kids didn't have school and I took Anna for a haircut!  It is fun to see the before and after!

On Saturday Olivier was the biggest kid at jiu jitsu and they were doing point matches so they paired him with one of the class helpers.  It was great to see him push himself!
Enjoy watching!
And this afternoon the kids enjoyed coloring eggs!  Ready for Easter tomorrow!

Spring break week comes to a close and we hop into April!

This week the kids were on spring break.  Although it was rather boring for them since we didn't go on any trips or anything like that, I am sure they didn't mind the chance to sleep in!  Even Olivier slept in some!

On Saturday we joined the celebration for Eli's 13th birthday!  Hard to believe these Arnold cousins are all 13 now!
Today I went out early to a local bluff trail because a co-worker mentioned there was a lot of wildflowers, especially poppies.  And although there weren't as many as expected, it was still a beautiful walk and view!
And an up close photo of the poppies!
This week Mason't school volleyball season closes out with a game and a tournament.  No rain in the forecast and it might warm up a fair amount come Easter weekend!
