We had an amazing time at the Safari Park! And there are a lot of photos of the cool animals! We were greeted by this beautiful blue bird!
Then we visited Newman the sand cat!
It was crazy to see the balloon swaying in the wind before they secured it with larger lines. No balloon rides with the wind!
We then went on the tram ride. We saw the cheetah enjoying the shade.
And the rhinos enjoying some shade as well!
It was funny to think about the last time we took this tram ride ten years ago when it was crazy hot and Mason sat in my lap. And now he is bigger than me!
And after the tram we went and visited some of the animals! We got to see the cheetah roaming the enclosure.
When we passed the vultures, this one opened their wings and often was in a stance that looked like they were bowing to us. Anna made the vulture bow, be careful!
And the gorillas Frank and Monroe. They were enjoying a special treat and it was fun to see their interactions.
And this crane was just hanging out along the walkway.
The kids enjoyed petting the goats.
We visited the Australia exhibit and saw the kangaroos!
It was hot and they were happy to be in the shade!
We then left the park and took our luggage to a drop off location because we were going to be spending the night in the park! After dropping off our stuff we got a guided tour through part of the park to were we would be camping. We stopped by Newman but he was busy sleeping. It was a great view that we enjoyed along the way.
A little early but I loved this photo of Matt and the kids and felt like this is what Father's Day is all about!
We then had dinner and got our tent setup. Lucky number 28!
Right outside our site there was a large Jenga set which the kids enjoyed playing.
It made me nervous to watch them play!
We then went for an evening tram ride. This was a lot of fun and a very different experience. It was after the park had closed and getting closer to sunset.
Lots of animals out and about!
At the end of the tram ride we got to see this giraffe up close and they didn't seem to mind how close we were.
After the tram we had s'mores, and then we went on a group tour and we were lucky enough to see the elephants on the move which was amazing!
We also visited Newman the sand cat again and in typical cat fashion, it was still nap time!
We then headed back to camp for some games and then it was off to bed. In the morning we enjoyed a tasty breakfast and after breakfast we got to see the cheetah run! And it was amazing!
And then she ran again! And a bit faster!
Before leaving the park to get our luggage back in our car we had an animal encounter with these fun birds.
After we got the luggage back in the car we went back into the Safari Park because I really wanted to see a tiger and I got super lucky, we got to see two tigers. They had been fed recently so they were fairly active which was exciting to see!
The beak of the toucan was very easy to spot!
The last animals we visited were the California condors.
We had an amazing time! Now we all want a shower and a nap!
