8 years down!

This weekend we celebrated Olivier and Mason's 8th birthday!  Each year brings new adventures and fun and this last year has been no exception!  We had a family lunch on Saturday.  Complete with maple donuts.

And they were super excited to use their gifts!  Mason enjoyed making his moving sand display with April (supervisor Corbyn kept a close eye on the events).
After going to the store in the late afternoon to use their birthday gift cards and dinner, the boys enjoyed working on what they got.  Olivier worked on his Batman motorcycle lego kit.
And Mason was super happy to play with his mini marble run.

Blue Bear!

Mason loves his blue bear costume I made for him (Halloween 2014) and he still wears it.  Can you tell that he has grown?  This is the same door he is standing against in the same costume shirt.  :-)

Lunch with Dad on Terrance Hill

Today was a teacher work day and Matt took the day off with the kids.  He wanted to go check out a local spot for possibly riding bikes around in the dirt with the kids.  They took lunch and enjoyed an amazing view of the city.
There was a tree splitting a rock.
That of course they all wanted to climb.
And tried to force it apart even more.  Mason took round 1.
 Anna took round 2.
 And Olivier took round 3.
They found a cool spot to jump from and Matt got some great photos of the kids in the air.
 Watch out below!

Trick or Treat, We don’t have smelly feet

This year we have a glow stick man, Link (from Zelda) and Hermione (from the Harry Potter books).
This is what Mason's costume looks like in the dark (a few glow sticks didn't survive trick or treating but you get the idea)
And his back!
The pumpkins looked great!
And so does Davy Crockett!

Final preparations for Halloween!

Today Matt and the kids did the final preparations for Halloween.  They carved pumpkins...

One side of the front yard has the head stone in place and "Fred" is keeping an eye on everyone.
On the other side we have a dragon and spider keeping an eye out.  Caution tape is in place to try and keep trick or treaters (and their parents) from walking through the yard, mainly so they don't trip on the lines securing the dragon and spider.
We are ready for Halloween!

Rufus love!

Is there such a thing as loving your dog too much?  If so, our kids have a case of that with Rufus!  Thankfully they are now tall enough to stand over him now and not try to ride him anymore!  :-)

Fun and Games for the kids at the Bus Roadeo

Today was the bus roadeo at my work (an no, that is not a typo, that is how you spell rodeo for buses that dive on roads!).  It is exciting to see the drivers compete, and amazing!  It is a challenging course!  As part of the event they have activities for kids and this year they had something new for the kids.  They loved it!
