After dinner last night we went exploring in the Chateau to see how high we could go. It was a lot of bouncing around elevators and stairs but eventually we made it up to the 18th floor. Fancy!

This morning we decided to go on a bus tour of the city. It is a double decker bus with the top being open... It is an adventure we will all remember, especially Matt and my parents...

Anna was so excited to hear this church does a special blessing of the dogs in June. Sorry Rufus, we didn't bring you to Quebec with us.
The Chateau looks huge from this view. I am not saying it isn't but this makes it look even bigger!
Now, we will pause for a moment. We were worried about rain. And at this point it started to rain lightly. I asked Mason if he wanted to go onto the first floor of the bus. He did, as well as Anna and Olivier. So we did. And we managed to stay dry, we were the lucky ones of our group. We appreciate everyone being willing to battle the elements!
We continued the bus tour, missed our stop for a possible parliament tour (it wasn't a given so it is fine), and finally settled on a stop to get off. The first thing we did was duck into a souvenir shop and we got ponchos. It wasn't raining too much at that point but it was very cheap insurance.
Anna was in love with the horse drawn carriages.

We then went to visit the original (and only true Chateau) ruins that are under the boardwalk (remember that glass viewing area from yesterday). It was really interesting. I have to say it is impressive how much they have for kids and how much is in English. The kids liked this "dig" site they had set up to show how they look for historical artifacts (pottery).
After lunch (yummy crepes!) we went back on the bus (didn't take our chances and stayed below). We got off along the water. We tried to visit Notre Dame des Victories but it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

And the rain started up again. Thankfully it didn't last for long and we had the ponchos!
Mason was really interested in this fountain and was disappointed that I hadn't been able to get a photo of it on our previous trips past it. Well this time, I took plenty!
We saw this little guy running away from us. The kids are convinced it was a beaver (not sure what happened to it's tail in that case...!).
We went into the Citadelle and saw the two guards. They have a two hour shift.
I had to laugh when I saw this one! :-)
No more silly antics!
We headed back to the hotel to pick up the car and head back to Magog. We stopped for dinner along the way and somewhere along the way Anna lost a tooth! It was a molar. Canadian tooth fairy time! By the time we got to bed, we were all very happy to be closing our eyes!
