Dia de la familia 2016

Matt and I were lucky enough to enjoy dia de la familia as part of the boys kindergarten program.  It was so sweet to see their two classes sing songs together, then they brought over cake, strawberries, and lemonade to their parents.   Olivier is in the front row on the left and Mason is in the back row toward the right.

 After that we got to take photos with the kids.  One in front of the green banner.

And we got to take home flowers (the one you see in this photo), as well as some craft projects the boys have been working really hard on in their art class.

Matt on the run!

Today was all about Matt!  The kids and I met him at the park by our house early on in his run (just before the six mile mark).  Then we went home and had breakfast.  Then it was off to the next meeting location around mile 18.  Here is one as Matt approached with the kids cheering (Olivier is in front of Mason).  He was feeling run down from the sun but was looking good.  

 From there the kids and I drove to the finish line to cheer on the runners and prepare for Matt's arrival.  I let the kids go on the other side of the fence (with a lot of specific instructions!) when Matt was close.  They ran with him for a short bit when he had .2 miles to go.

The start of a running weekend!

Today we kicked off a busy running weekend!  There was a 5k and a quarter mile dash for the kids.  Maybe next year we will get them to run the full mile!  This is during lap one as I made my way around.  I love how Mason is blowing his pinwheel.

 It was a lot warmer than I was expecting.  Hard to remember the cold and pouring rain from last year.

 We had a bit of time before the kids race so we checked stuff out.  The kids were really interested to see someone get in the ice bath.  I don't think he cared for the audience so we tried to move the kids along.  :-)

 Before the start of the kids quarter mile dash they had stretches.  Olivier was nervous about running so I ran with him and he did great.

 Anna and Mason were all business.

 When the race started Mason was quick to try and get around others.  Don't they know you should go to the right if you are slower?  (Mommy enjoys hanging out on the right!)

 Anna did a great job too!

 Mason reached the finish line first.  He crossed the fist line and was done.  :-)

Toothless!

Mason let Matt pull another tooth out! He now has no top front teeth, and two holes on the bottom. Craziness!

Crazy Hair Day!

Fun times!  They got dampened a little bit by the light rain today but they still are crazy!  :-)

Off to the Show!

Tonight we took the kids to see the show "It's Magic" at our local performing arts center.  They had a great time and now are super curious on how they did all those tricks!  :-)
