18 month checkup

Today we took the boys to the doctor for their 18 month checkups. It went very well and the boys didn't cry too much (especially when they got their snack right after). Here is a quick update on what they are up to:

Olivier:
25 lbs, 4 oz (45th percentile)
33'" (70th percentile)
46.5 cm (15th percentile for head circumference)
He can say: boo, hi, da da, up, ba ba (for ma ma), eat
He understands almost everything we tell him, especially "what is in your mouth?" He hears that a lot and promptly comes over with his mouth open to show us. He is taking full advantage of asking to be picked up knowing that we can't turn him down, and to go down he also tells us that he wants up. He loves all the animals and blowing kisses to just about anything. The bigger mess that he can make, the better. He loves to swing Superman style (on his belly). He loves looking at picture books and hearing us talk about all the images.

Mason:
27 lbs, 2 oz (they didn't write down any of the percentiles for Mason!)
34"
49 cm (head circumference)
He can say: hi, ma ma, da da, boo (although he rarely just says one of them without being prompted and even when asked, we only get about two words a day; with lots of praise we hope he will be chatting away soon)
He also understands just about everything we tell him. He is much more reserved and tends to observe but he does get into his fair share of trouble as well. He is still very much a Mommy's boy. Mason is most likely going to be a lefty and he loves to use a fork to eat. He is full of sly smiles and loves to rock in rocking chairs. Over the weekend we were at a party and there were two horses on springs that rocked back and forth and he was constantly going between the two as though he was trying to figure out which one as better.

They both have mastered the straw cups and enjoy eating at the table with us. They know where their hair, ears, mouth, and nose are. They love making baskets in the basketball hoop that they have.

Pictures to follow soon, hopefully tomorrow!
