Birthday party!

We had Anna's birthday party on January 31st. Below are some of the photos that we got of all the fun. :-)

Anna's cake for her to enjoy! And make a mess of if she wants.
The cake for everyone else! :-)
Anna enjoys hanging out with Connor and Ryan. It is really cute!
Anna was having fun playing with a toy even while it was still in the box! :-)
Anna loves the rocking chair from Joe, Heather and Lina!
Anna eating her cake. Yummy!
She wasn't too messy with this cake. We thought she would really go for it since she had one already, this time she was even more tentative though.
Enjoying her wagon from Grandma and Grandpa Remillard!

Happy 1st Birthday Anna!

Today is Anna's first birthday! We are so excited to share the day with her and proud of all that she has done over the year! Yes, I am an emotional Mommy today. :-)

Here are a few photos of her today including her with her cupcake (Mommy made spice cake with frosting of course!).

Video of Anna enjoying some cake! :-)

Home

We spent Saturday doing laundry, groceries and overall just trying to recover from our day of travel. It is much cooler here, we went from shorts and tee shirts to long sleeves and pants.

Anna was happy to have all of her toys again. :-)

I have some video clips from our trip too that I may add later. At least I am caught up, for now! :-)

January 23rd

We took it easy this morning after a rough night (Anna was/is not feeling well) and headed off to the airport. Anna did very well on the plane. We got our luggage and drove home. It was a late night but it was nice to be home and hope that Anna is feeling better soon.

January 22nd

Today we wanted to take advantage of the beach as much as possible. We were there in the morning as well as the afternoon. Anna had a lot of fun with the water and sand, especially with her turtle. :-)

After dinner we tried to catch the sunset and missed it by just a few seconds. Bummer! We did get some cute photos of Anna. She has figured out how to stick out her tongue so we have quite a few photos of her showing that off. Silly girl!

January 21st

Happy Birthday Grandma Remillard! :-) We called to say happy birthday. I tried to get Anna to talk into the phone but she wanted to lick it for some reason! Goofy girl.

After Anna's morning nap we went back to the swap meet to get macadamia nuts for Grandma Arnold. After lunch, off to the beach we went! We got Anna an inflatable turtle because she does like the water so much and it was a great purchase all around, she loved to sit in it while we were in our room too.

We went to Hard Rock for dinner and had lots of fun!

January 20th

This morning we watched the inauguration of our new president at 7 a.m. (Hawaii time can be nice!). Shortly after we headed off for a road trip. We saw the east side first (which includes the Diamond Head lighthouse). We stopped at a beach for lunch but due to some rain we hung out in the back of the car for the most part.

We also stopped at a macadamia nut farm and at the Dole plantation (boy that place smells yummy and some very interesting information!).

Lots of driving but Anna seemed to manage it just fine until we hit a traffic jam, due to an accident, just a few miles from the hotel. We all survived though!

January 19th

Anna slept well last night and we were more than happy to get a little extra sleep! We got all slathered up in sunscreen and went to Hanauma Bay for most of the day (we were there from just after 9 a.m. until almost 2 p.m.). It was beautiful and we all had a great time.

When we left we decided to drive part of the island while Anna napped. We saw the entire south and west sides of the island and plan on seeing the east and north tomorrow!

January 18th

Anna woke up early again this morning but after a bottle and a diaper change she slept until 6:30 a.m. Yeah! We went to the swap meet at Aloha Stadium (bummer it isn't in the stadium!). We did lots of walking and Anna enjoyed the stroller ride and people watching.

After Anna's afternoon nap we went to the beach to wear her out for the day! :-)

Anna started giving kisses on her own today! :-) It is very cute, although it looks a bit like CPR! Her favorite book at home is the training book we got for CPR when we took a class before she was born so we think she was following what the book says. :-)

We stayed in after dinner, Anna was very sleepy!

Anna's CPR kiss is below... :-)

January 17th

Anna woke up early again this morning and we made it to the beach at 8 a.m. Anna and I played in the sand and water while Matt ran. We went back to our room for Anna's morning nap.

We walked to the art festival in the park by the Honolulu Zoo and saw all the exhibits and displays. After lunch and Anna's afternoon nap it was off to the beach again. It was a very nice day with only a light breeze. We also enjoyed a walk along the main drag in Waikiki. After dinner we went and got ice cream. Yum!

January 16th

Anna got up early this morning (she is still on California time) and Matt took her for a walk while I tried to get a little more sleep. After her morning nap we went down to the beach to enjoy the water for a while. It got very windy but thankfully we did not get the hurricane force winds they were predicting.

Daddy got some tar like stuff on his foot in the water and it was very hard to get off but thankfully it did come off!

We went back to the room for lunch then we took a very long walk, dodging the rain along the way! We drove to Hilo Hattie and Anna and I got some pearls. We went back to our room for dinner. After dinner it was back to the beach to play in the sand before bed. Anna is getting more adventurous in her walking!

January 15th

Today we flew to Hawaii! :-) We arrived, settled at our hotel, got some food and supplies, and had dinner. We took a walk to the beach (only a block away!). Anna had a blast and went right for the water. We took her pants off and let her walk right in, she got upset when we had to leave, it was the first time she has cried when we put her in the stroller!

Public and private schools are closed tomorrow because we are suppose to get hurricane force winds, yikes! We will find out!

Busy Thursday with Daddy - and new accessory!

Anna spent the day with Daddy on Thursday. We had breakfast together before I went off for a girls day. Anna is quite the talker, the video below is of her after we finished eating.

Anna is showing off her new accessory below! She looks very cute with garnet on her ears! :-) Daddy got it done (with Mommy's permission). Anna looks like such a big girl now!

Walking all on her own!!!!!!

Today is an exciting day (and a bit emotional for me!), ANNA TOOK HER FIRST STEPS ALL ON HER OWN!!!! I was sitting on the ground with my legs streched out in front of me. Anna came over to my feet, stood herself up, and took three step to me for a hug! I am in shock to think that our baby girl is walking!

Below is a video of Anna going between us and you can see how much steadier she is on her feet, she even checks her balance a few times! Lina was with us tonight too but not to excited. We tried to get her and Anna to walk after one of our cats, Lina thought that was fun, Anna had no clue what we meant! :-) We were able to get her to walk from us to the sofa and back, she seems excited about trying it out all on her own!

Sunglasses

Anna got her eyes checked in mid December and it was very strongly recommended that we get her used to sunglasses (especially given Daddy's very pale eyes) so we got a pair and are working on getting Anna used to the idea. We know they won't stay on long now but she will get used to them and they will start to stay on longer.

She looks very cute in them! :-)

New Year's

We went up to Sunnyvale for New Year's to celebrate with Daneya, Ed, Connor and Ryan. We had a great time and it was fun to see the boys and Anna interact.

Below is Connor with his New Year's hat and noise maker from the celebration on New Year's eve at Boarders.
Below is Ryan
And Anna

And Anna as we were getting ready to go, I think she was trying to tell us it was noisy! :-)
