Up up and away in that big plane!

On our first plane today, the flight crew was amazing!  Super friendly and happy!  And they spoiled the kids and let them check out the cockpit before we took off.  Needless to say they were thrilled!
The kids found this small stage in the airport in Philadelphia and did little shows.  I am sure the other travelers were surprised!

Golden Gate Bridge

As we were preparing to depart for our vacation, we decided to go on a side trip to see the Golden Gate Bridge.  The kids had often asked to see it so we figured it was about time.  And the weather was amazing!

We went to check on the display of the cable used in the bridge and all three wanted me to take their photo with the city off in the background (you may have to squint!).

A fun start to our vacation adventure!

3rd grade Fiesta

Today all the 3rd grade classes had a fiesta!  They started by singing songs.  Anna was in the back row, toward the left (very hard to see her!).
It is a big group!
They sang a few songs.

Then they lined up and got ready to dance with their partner.
Dancing time!
She had a great time!

Water balloon fun!

Today the kids were thrilled to fill up some water balloons and bounce around on the trampoline with them.  They lasted a lot longer than expected!

Enjoying a local park...and there was water in the creek!

Today we were going to take the kids to the beach for a bit to play at the park, play in the sand and the "edge" of the water.  With the fog rolling in at most beaches, the one clear beach was crazy crowded so we headed to a local park with fingers crossed that there would be water in the creek still.  There sure was!  The kids were thrilled and it worked out better than the beach, there was shade for them to play.  On the down side, there was moss on a fair amount of the rocks which caused all three kids to slide and get all wet.  We were prepared for that possibility though so it all worked out!

This gives you an idea of how deep it was (and this wasn't the deepest spot).

We all really enjoyed the time in nature.

Writing Competing 2017 Awards Night

Tonight we celebrated the writer that Anna has become!  She received a special award at a district awards ceremony.  There were five categories with about 20 students each category receiving awards (from kinder through 12 grade).  The category Anna received her award in was personal narrative.  It was a story about playing soccer in the rain with Mason, and it was written in Spanish!

Getting her medal.
 The required handshakes.

Her best friend also got an award!
Her teacher was there to help the five (yes, five in one class!) kids who got awards.
Keep up the hard work Anna!
