Happy Easter!

Yesterday we colored some eggs as we prepared for Easter.  We used food coloring on some and on some (while still warm) we used crayons.  The crayon ones are my favorite because the crayon melts on and creates a cool design.  We would need actual egg holders (not the egg carton) to make it more appealing though, because in the carton you can't color half the egg with crayons.  This is all of Olivier's and Anna's food colored ones.
And here are Anna's crayon eggs.
 And all of Mason's.
This morning the kids were very excited to see what the Easter bunny had left and found clothes, sandals, a hollow chocolate bunny, and lots of eggs around the house (there may be one missing still!).
The kids all got a bear in their favorite colors.  The boys were showing them off.  And all three had them along when they went hunting.

Anna's teeth

Anna had three baby teeth pulled today to make room for all those grown up teeth coming in.  She was super brave and the tooth fairy gave her lots of money!  (Sorry for the silly first photo, it was dark in the house and the flash was super bright!)

And after!  (they pulled three of the canine teeth, one had already been pulled by the dentist)

Happy 5th Birthday Eli!

Today we celebrated Eli's 5th birthday!  Wow!  It is hard to believe.  It seems like we were all pregnant just yesterday (I was pregnant with Mason and Olivier and all three of my sister in laws were pregnant at the same time!!).  It was a beautiful day and the kids took full advantage of some time in a giant bounce house!  When Heather was holding Corbyn she found a trick to shade her head, using her bat girl cape!  Happy girl!
The kids were excited to sing and eat blue cupcakes with yellow frosting.  Anna is next to Eli and designed her own pink super hero costume.
When we arrived the Hunter's were also arriving.  It was so heart warming to see sweet Julie come running over to give Anna a hug and off they went to play.
Olivier was happy to enjoy some M & M's with Dad in the shade.
No photos of Mason today, he was too busy bouncing and getting all sweaty to take a photo!  :-)

Soccer!

The kids are playing soccer again this "winter" (no, it really hasn't been a winter) and although they still enjoy it, they don't seem as happy about it as they were.  There are two weeks to go and then we will give soccer a rest.  In the mean time I am going to enjoy taking photos of them when they are being good and listening to their coach!  :-)

Not a view to complain about

Matt has been going into work early this week.  He took this yesterday morning when he got to work.  It is a tiring week, especially with the time change, but you can't complain about being surrounded by this.

Long overdue post on what the kids are up to!

With everything going on I haven't been good about updating the blog on what the kids have been up to so I wanted to do that while I had a moment!  One update for all three is that they are doing soccer again (from late January to the end of March).  They are really enjoying it still but Olivier still wants to use his hands, maybe he will be a keeper?

Anna:
She had her seven year old checkup today and she is close to 50 pounds and 47.5 inches.  She is doing well and staying steady at the 45 percentile for weight and height.  She has now lost eight teeth, yes eight!  The big issue with Anna's teeth is just that, they are big!  In her tiny mouth with her baby teeth squished in some teeth need to be pulled out.  :-(  She had one pulled out this week but the other three that need to go will need a bit more help than her dentist could provide.  Bummer.  School is going very well.  She is still reading English like crazy, and Anna continues to exceed the standard for Spanish, meaning that she is reading above what a native Spanish speaker would read in Spanish in the first grade.  And when she speaks in Spanish it is very fast!  She is shy about it even with us but I caught her counting in Spanish when she was doing her math homework this week, cool!  She also got some snap circuits for her birthday which were a surprising hit, with all three kids (although the boys need more help).

Olivier:
He is so close to reading (if he isn't already).  I remember when Anna was at this point of learning to read that sometimes we thought she was reading but she would deny it, and other times we thought she wasn't but she was.  Olivier is there and is working hard at sounding out words.  As wild and adventurous as he is, he loves books.  He will sit and go through books looking at the words and pictures for long periods of time.  He was very excited to go to the dentist in February but got really mad when they told him he didn't have any loose teeth.  We have tried to reassure Olivier that everyone looses their baby teeth and the tooth fairy will visit when the time comes but he still questions why it isn't happening now!  The boys got Mario Cart for our Wii for Christmas and boy does he LOVE it.  At first watching him play made me sick to my stomach with all the crashes and just being silly.  Now he has gotten the hang of it and is good.  Health wise there are still ups and downs but we are able to manage them much better.

Mason:
He has four slightly loose teeth, wow!  We knew his top two would probably come out early (due to a bonk he had almost three years ago) but we didn't realize that his bottom two were loose also.  It would be funny (for us, not him) if he lost all four around the same time.  He might look like a hockey player!  :-)  He has been really into trying to figure out magic tricks and enjoyed a little set of tricks we got from the dollar store.  He is growing like a weed, yes, a weed!  Mason loves making costumes and helping put on plays or shows at school.  His latest costume is a pig.  And yes, this is the kid who would not wear a Halloween costume just before he turned two and just before he turned three.  He also loves to look at books and practice reading.  Mason also loves talking about his friend, "No Sam" which is his name spelled backwards.  No Sam has a spot at our dinner table most nights and often joins us for car trips.  He still love his blue bear (stuffed animal) and the blue bear costume I made for him.

Is Gus really three?!?

This weekend we celebrated Gus' 3rd birthday.  It is hard to believe this happy boy is now three!  He is all boy so his super hero party at a basketball court.  :-)

Happy Birthday Gus!!
And Anna was thrilled to see Corbyn again.  She had a girls day with April and Corbyn for her birthday and was beyond thrilled to be wearing the same dress as Corbyn (even if she had to wear a long sleeve shirt and leggings under because it was chilly out).  You can't tell they had the same dress but Anna sure did!
