Father Daughter Dance!

Tonight Matt took Anna to a local father daughter dance for Valentine's day.  He even got her a corsage.  Very lucky!  :-)

And during the dance they took their photo in a photo booth.  Can you tell she has a silly daddy?

A little about Anna!

I have gotten in the habit of asking the kids some question (and yes a couple are a bit odd) on their birthday to see how their answers change as they grow older.  Here is what Anna had to say tonight, now that she is 7!  Yes, I am still in shock!  Her prior two years are in ()

Favorite Color:  pink (pink, pink)
Favorite Book:  Rainbow Magic (Rainbow Fairy, The Cat in the Hat)
Favorite Gift:  Roller skates (Wallet, Pop Charm Bracelets)
What do you want to be when you grow up:  Horse Rider (Librarian, Librarian)
Friends:  Lina her cousin (Sydney from Cal Poly, Sydney and Brooklyn from school)
Favorite thing to do:  Read (Read books, play on the structure at school)
Favorite thing to do at school:  Write (play on the structure, write in straight lines)
Favorite food:  Peanut butter and Jelly (Macaroni, yogurt)
Favorite place to go:  Beach (library, the secret forest - a place they trek to at school)
How old will you be when you grow up:  53 (34 - Same age as Mom, 16)
How old will you be when you get married:  20 (20, 17 - and she said she would marry Mason)
How old will you be when you have a baby:  25 (40, she said she didn't know if she would have a baby)

She is 46.75 inches tall.  She did a lot of growing this year but is still our tiny, sweet, happy girl!

And some photos from tonight!  She was excited to get roller skates.
We went outside so she could test them out and soon after she fell, but was still all smiles.
They make her look even bigger!
The boys put their skates on to join her.  Olivier was a bit more clumsy.
And Mason did fairly well.  He took a big fall but got back up and skated for a bit after.
 Happy kids!
Anna's choice of cupcakes, chocolate with strawberry frosting.
Can you tell she is excited?
 Made her wish...
 Happy Birthday Anna!
And enjoyed celebrating in the park on a beautiful day!

Anna is 7!

I am in major denial this year, I can't believe this sweet baby is now 7!  She gave me the most amazing gift, she made me a mother.  Happy Birthday to my sweet girl!  I love you!

Enjoying nature!

This weekend we spent a lot of time "enjoying nature".  Saturday we went on the hunt for something Matt and the kids had visited in the past, only to find out it is closed.  Bummer.  We enjoyed being outside on the surprisingly warm day.

And today we went to where we were engaged!  And the waves crashing was an amazing site, was back then too!
 Mr. Olivier tested my nerves!
And yes, Anna wore a fancy dress to the beach for our walk.
I like this photo of Mason because you can see the layers of rock in the background.  And well, it is a good photo too!
Matt went out a bit and the kids didn't understand why they couldn't go out there too.  Yikes!

Roller skating of a good time!

The boys got roller skates for their birthday but Mason had yet to try it out.  Then suddenly yesterday he asked to roller skate so we did this morning, and he did for almost a hour.  Yes, one full hour!  Both boys started out with our help, and Anna was our photographer.  Boy can she take a lot of photos!  She did get some really great ones.

Olivier was with Matt.
 And I was with Mason.
Mason was full of smiles and fairly steady, well, as much as you can be for your first time on roller skates!
Anna had him stop so she could take a close up.
Olivier was much more daring than Mason, and goofy!
 Still having lots of fun!
Mason got a bit more brave!
And Olivier called it quits after this fall.  As Mason said, "he went boom on his butt."
Anna took Olivier's skates and went around for a while, and Mason wouldn't stop until after Anna was done.  And he didn't stop even when he did fall.  Way to go!  And he is asking to skate again tomorrow.  Anna wasn't too happy that no one took her photo when she was skating, maybe tomorrow!

New Years Hike!

We enjoyed a hike up "our hill" to celebrate the new year!  Three years in a row and this year was by far the coldest!  We hiked in the afternoon to try and hike most of it in the sun and when the temperature was a bit warmer.  The kids love the "big boulder" along the way up.
And it took us 28 minutes to go up, with a short break for water.  Once we got to the top the view was beautiful as always.  And the moon was rising.
 Looking toward the coast.
And the kids enjoyed watching the train coming into town.
I was playing with the camera and got this cute photo of Anna.
We look forward to the adventures 2015 holds!
