Busy and chilly week!

This week we had some very cold nights and unfortunately still no rain.  In particular, the morning of February 24th, the temperature didn't make it above freezing until after 8 a.m. and all three kids were going to have band outside before school or for the very start of school.  The boys got lucky and they were able to play inside the multi purpose room but Anna had first period band outside to get ready for their performance later that day.  Burr!  And even that afternoon, it was windy and cold.  Okay, for us it was windy and cold.  And then of course in our weird weather patter today should be a warm day and the next two might even get near or over 80, and then we drop to the low 60's on Thursday and stay that way for a few days.  And no sign of real rain.  Ugh!  

The kids are not looking forward to the weeks ahead because they have a stretch of no days off (especially Anna, the boys have a teacher work day late in March).  But it will help them enjoy spring break that much more!  

Happy Birthday Matt!

Happy birthday to this amazing guy!  We love you so very much!  And just for the record, we are shrinking in comparison with our kids!  Look at how tall they are now, yikes!

 

Band is in my bones!

Today we attended the second band performance.  It has been a lot of hard work as they had to adjust with the changing impacts of COVID and the timeline of her teacher heading out on maternity leave but they pulled it together and it was wonderful!  Here is song one.

And for song three I switched spots just so I could get one photo of Anna and the instructor.  It was a sweet moment as she thanked the kids for everything leading up to her sweet baby girl arriving.

End to the Winter Olympics

This week has been fairly quiet but we have enjoyed watching the Olympic games and today we enjoyed watching the movie Cool Runnings about the bob sled team from Jamaica.  We enjoyed the movie and will miss the distraction the Olympics provided!  And this week we will busy, and still missing the rain.  

Beautiful weekend!

This week the weather really heated up, and as nice as that has been, we are still missing the rain dearly!  On Saturday afternoon we took the kids out for a special treat (super yummy shakes at a locally owned business) and then did some local exploring.  Here are a few photos from our time out and about.  The moon was a nice surprise in some of these photos.

Anna and Mason enjoyed showing me how their shadows are as tall as me!

We visited during a minus low tide so the beach was very sandy.

We made our way out to the jetty and we enjoyed the view before the tide came in.  

And today is Valentine's day!  A bit of a lop sided heart but doesn't mean our love is lop sided!  :-)  

 

Happy Start to February!

This has been a quiet week which has been nice to not have a lot of "stuff" going on were we enjoyed just a "normal" week.  The weather has been sunny with no rain in site unfortunately, and next week is even worse, it is supposed to be hot!  Boo!  And that's it for this week!
